Pegagus World Cup is World Richest Race for $16 Million

The $16 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational is just weeks away January 27 at Gulfstream Park, and the field is coming together and close to complete. Five other slots have been filled with commitments from Sharp Azteca, the recent Cigar Mile winner, and Clark Handicap winner Seeking the Soul. Also, former Breeders’ Cup Classic runner-up Toast of New York will run along with San Antonio Stakes winner Giant Expectations. The fabulous filly Stellar Wind will finish her career in the Pegasus, leaving two more slots and entries to fill the 12-horse field.

Among those being considered and most likely to commit are from the trio of Game Over,

Singing Bullet and Leavem in Malibu. Longshots who have a chance if any of those three don’t commit soon are Giuseppe the Great and Feat the Cowboy, who both won their last starts at Gulfstream. Destin and Prime Attraction are candidates as well.
